Happy Halloween
Just a few of my favourite spooky classics to wrap up the season. These are all well worth a read. You may find, in fact, that they are so good you'll be wanting to re-read them every October.

I've read all of these except the Gaskell one. Must look into that.
I agree with you on the gore. I don't find it frightening and I think a creepy story is much more effective than one full of blood and guts.
I love Woman in Black and Dracula, too. They're two of my favorite Halloween reads. :)
