I remember it as October days are always remembered, cloudless, maple-flavored, the air gold and so clean it quivers.

Nice quotation.
I tend to remember September in a similar way, except substitute "heather-scented" for "maple-flavored". October for me means "darkness, storms, rain, hot chocolate and warn overcoats"

Beautiful quote indeed, but I remember October (and fall, in general) as: sweaters, cool temperatures and pink cheeks; skies a shade of blue that is so glorious it almost makes me cry; multi-colored leaves floating down from giant trees, the dried-out ones crunching under my shoes as I walk home from school; and that amazing aroma of burning leaves from neighbors' down the street. Sweet memories....
Thank you, Trish!
