book notes

So I was in a thrift shop the other day - impossible to pass one by without going in to look at their bookshelves - and I noticed this lovely book flung atop a pile destined for the recycle bin. What? I know! Criminal. Anyway, I quickly pointed it out to the clerk and she said I could have it as it's been on the shelf for months and they needed the space, so . . . 

It's a book about books and the passion and esteem that the author has for them. I love the feel, reading and smell of this book. It was destined to come home with me.
