I just love this picture. It is perfect. And what a wonderful feeling it evokes in the viewer. Thanks for this. Hadn't seen it before. And I thought piling books on a table under a lamp was a new decorating idea!

Yes, the books! The lamp is lovely too and rather than the trendy vintage arrangement of today he's just needing to get a better angle for reading - heh, who knew?

The atmosphere IS great, isn't it? I think it has to do with the gloomy evening outside and the long shadows inside. That house across the street looks a little sinister too. But he's all tucked in warm and cozy absorbed in a book with a dog curled up at his feet and his hand in a box of crackers. What could be better?
