I don't have much of a green thumb, but this orchid has blessed me with a twice yearly bloom for the past four years. It's in a bright south facing room and I water it . . . whenever, which is to say I soak it and then neglect it, soak it and then neglect it. Huh, who knew it would be so forgiving?

Orchids are such a beautiful flower! I have a Christmas cactus that acts in about the same way - twice a year it blooms.
Beautiful and so nice to see a pretty flower with all this snow around.
Plants are much more forgiving of under watering than over watering.
Gorgeous! I love pictures of flowers, and this one seems to leap off the page...it's so sharp and clear. Thanks for sharing.
Here's my SATURDAY SNAPSHOT
That's the best kind of gardening, neglect. My flowers do the same, thrive on neglect. Wonderful shot. Thanks for adding some colour to our very White day.
Oh my gosh, that is absolutely beautiful! I'm so impressed that you're growing that.
Now that's the kind of flower I need! :) The only houseplant I haven't managed to kill was a cactus I had in college (but had to get rid of when I had babies in the house).
Very nice!
That's a gorgeous flower. And I'm surprised that an orchid would be that forgiving. I thought they were pretty delicate little things.

Hi Trish! We were given an orchid last year that produced lots of lovely flowers last year but which hasn't done anything at all since. Ho hum.
It's nice to see such a beautiful flower after such a strange winter!
Oh! That is simply lovely.
*smiles*
Thanks all for coming 'round!
Yes, I was always under the impression that orchids were fussy little princesses (like roses, ugh) but they seem to be more sturdy than that and have proven me happily wrong.
