Sunrise over Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada - Aug. 2010 |
Georgian Bay is a wild and undeveloped cluster of bays and islands on the edge of Lake Huron. There are a few cottages here and there but mostly it's just miles and miles of forest, rocks, and water. We spent some time here this past summer with family, all our kids and their cousins. I loved rising with the sun and going for morning swims before anyone else was awake and then curling up on a deck chair with a cup of hot coffee watching the sky and clouds transform into day. I think the morning I took this picture the wind was pretty brisk so I may have added a quilt to my deck chair and coffee routine. Ahh, serenity.
Blogger Alyce over at At Home With Books put out this idea of a Saturday Snapshot. Great idea Alyce, thanks!

I love it!
what a gorgeous shot~
What a lovely shot! My husband loves to watch the sun rise over the water.
Oh, I love your photo...it's beautiful! I have never been to Ontario...I've only seen the parts of Canada from Alberta westward. But those trips were the most memorable ones in my childhood.
I can't believe I've never found your blog before! It's gorgeous, and I've copied the link so I can visit.
Your header is so great...It tells me a lot.
Thanks for visiting my Spotlight.
Watching the sunrise is one of the perks of being a morning person - it's such a quiet and beautiful time of day.
Thanks Laurel! I enjoyed visiting your site as well. I mostly keep a record here of books I've read, but occasionally I'll add other tidbits too.
Beautiful! Early mornings by the lake are the best! But, then, I am a morning person, too!
This is just absolutely gorgeous!!
