I love all the quiet details in this--the flowers on the table, the dishes on the shelves, the wallpaper, her plaid shawl or blanket she is wrapped up in--they all give us information about her and her life. Very nice!

I am a huge CL fan! I just saw a couple of his paintings in a museum here in Holland yesterday. One is one of the many I have framed in Cranberry Cottage (our little home in the north woods of Holland). It was such a treat to see it again for real since I had seen it when we lived in Sweden. DH and I both love his work and have many prints of them framed.

Hugs from Holland ~
Heidi ... wishing you a wonderful bookish weekend!

I really REALLY love your blog! Or I guess what I really love is your absolute complete and consuming passion for books! I have just spent the last hour browsing, since i have not visited in so long. So glad you have been finding SO much good to read...

Daisy - yes, I love seeing details of every-day life in old paintings. Every time I look there's something new.

Heidi - He's a wonderful artist! I'd love to see some of his work up close. Enjoy your weekend too :)

Nomad - Thanks! Yes, books . . . I hope you are finding time to read also?

This is one of those paintings where you can find something new every time you look at it!
