Tree of Books by Johanna Wright

Perhaps the most important thing we bring to another person is the silence in us, not the sort of silence that is filled with unspoken criticism or hard withdrawal. The sort of silence that is a place of refuge, of rest, of acceptance of someone as they are. We are all hungry for this other silence. It is hard to find. In its presence we can remember something beyond the moment, a strength on which to build a life. Silence is a place of great power and healing.

I love this post--both the picture and the passage! I want a tree like that in my yard. :-)

I will have to remember these words of wisdom when I next want to "set things right" in someone else's business :)

Daisy - it would be so wonderful, wouldn't it?

Harvee - yes, I try and do the same. It's not always easy, though . . .

That picture is so magical. And I couldn't have agreed more with the text. They fit together wonderfully! Great post :)
