Oh man, I'm so excited! I've finally pulled this book from my shelf, picked a bookmark and printed out a character sheet. Russian novels of this vintage possess a confounding array of characters with mile-long multi-syllabic names - best to keep track of them all early so as to better enjoy the story.
This is actually a second go-round for me as I only kind of read Anna Karenina as a teenager. I had no patience for it at the time and didn't even really *get* the story so ended up just skimming through it and then tossing it aside. I'm hoping for a better experience this time. I'm also hoping to get it done before Christmas and have vowed to not see the movie until I've finished the book. We'll see how it goes.
