Saturday Snapshot - strawberry season

There's nothing like a sun-warmed field-ripened strawberry! Mostly I just like to rinse and eat them right out of the basket, but they're also good sliced up in yogurt, ice-cream and on cereal. I've also tried dipping them in sugar and a dab of sour cream, in cakes and on waffles. Jam is good too . . .

Oh, I love strawberries! They are beautiful, tasty, and add something wonderful to just about anything.

As I sit here eating my oatmeal, I wish I had some! Thanks!!

There's nothing like strawberries and cream on a hot summer's day!

You are so right - they're best right out of the field.

Theres just nothing like a fresh strawberry with cream and a bit of sugar. Although the choco covered ones aren't bad either!

I have strawberries in the garden, but there's been so much rain they are not thriving. My Snapshot , of a Saxon Warrior Queen, is at http://goo.gl/vTUc8

Strawberries are plentiful this year. I have been making smoothies with them. Yum!

Rats, I am all out of strawberries...but I did just buy lots of raspberries, so I think I can manage my photo-induced berry craving!

I love them dipped in chocolate or as a topping over angel food cake. Strawberry shortcake is lovely as well. You've now reminded me of the strawberries upstairs waiting for my attention!

Have a lovely weekend!

I love, love, love strawberry freezer jam. I promise you...when you open a container later on in February, they will taste just as they did the June before :) and sooooooo easy!

Hmmm. I can practically smell them from the picture. Wish strawberry season wasn't over here.

Mmmm! You can't beat fresh-picked strawberries. I remember when my mom & dad had strawberries in the garden.

Here's my Snapshot.

I agree--rinse and eat. The berries look luscious!

gotta be local, gotta be ripe... so tired of the imported crap picked green then gassed to look 'ripe'... it's all in the taste!

Mmmmm... those sure look good. I've never tried growing strawberries. Too much wildlife in the yard that would think the berries were for them.

I've been so busy with other things I forgot about strawberry season! :) I need to check the schedule at the local farms to see when they ripen.

Strawberries are beautiful fruit!

Love strawberries.

Supposedly the JPGs now are better than when they first started, and they do take up less room. But once a JPG is edited, you can not undo it.

A RAW image can be undone.

Strawberry season is the BEST!! They're so yummy on everything, but so far, I haven't had a chance to make 'em into anything, yet. They all get et!
