This is low tide along the shore of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec where we went for winter holidays a few years ago. Although there are picturesque towns along the coast, and skiing in nearby hills, the landscape here is very rugged. The climate also feels very 'Atlantic' even though the ocean is still another 1,000 kilometers down the river.

Very rocky, but so picturesque.
I love the ruggedness of this area....gorgeous shot!
Ooh, I love rocks and water shots. Fantastic view!
No one could count all those stones. Rocky and still picturesque. Thanks for sharing.
Something about the picture is inviting in spite of the rugged landscape. My daughter goes to school near the St. Lawrence seaway, so it looks kind of like home to her. Here's My Saturday Snapshot
Rugged shots set against a smooth lake are a gorgeous combination.
Thanks for sharing.
Here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT and

It does look like a seascape!
Awesome! I love low tide.
Greta pic - you make me long for summer :)
That whole photo is pretty, and I especially love how clear and crisp looking the stones are.
Love the contrast between the few large stones and the multitude of little ones!
I will have to remember to pack my hiking boots if we ever travel there :)
I travelled part of that beautiful river before, last year in June.
Wonderful photo...Love how it goes from the ruggedness of the rocks to the softness of the sky & clouds.
it's a great place for snaps and vacationing, for sure
and yeah, having lived in halifax for about 15 years, can vouch for the 'sense' of the ocean in the area you visited :)
Lovely shot, I like the big foreground.
Nice perspective. Very pretty.
I didn't realize that the tides would affect the river but of course that makes sense.
Curious, isn't it? I wasn't expecting there to be tides here either, but there they were.
Very nice composition. I love that rocky bank.
tranquil!...
The contrasts in color and texture are very appealing.
