Saturday Snapshot - Early Morning

Sunrise over Lake Ontario, Dec 2011

I'm wondering why these Canada Geese haven't flown south yet. They're all huddled on the shore looking cold. Me? I love cold weather. But I get to go home and have a hot cup of coffee.

Yes, I think of the geese as leaving in November. I used to watch them in the sky on Thanksgiving mornings when I lived on the farm (as a child).

Thanks for sharing!

Great picture. I am a warm weather girl... like the sun. :)

We were so spoiled by the long warmish fall, I'm having a hard time adjusting to the newly cold weather. I'm kind of like the geese. Great shots. Here's Mine

I don't like the cold, so I'd fly south if I were those geese.

There is something really special about a beach in winter. It's not like any other time. I have some pics of the North Sea from last December - you've inspired me to post them!

Here's my snapshot.

Beautiful sunrise. We have enough geese here, I guess a few hardy ones can stay up north!

Whenever I see geese that stick around for the winter it makes me wonder just how far north they were that they flew south to my location. :)

I can only imagine how cold this was. I am from Ottawa originally so I get cold and how to dress for it. That entire trip was cold, just downright freezing.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Can I come stay with you so I experience such a morning?

Gorgeous photos, I love the beach in winter.

We've been having unseasonable warm temps until this week....are you by chance? I was thinking maybe the geese are confused and unsure if they should fly south yet?!
I love your photo of them!

Maybe they lost their way.

What a wonderful morning view. I bet the geese were just taking in one more beautiful sunrise before heading south!

Trish, my fellow Ontarian, these are lovely pics.
You're right, these geese should maybe get a move-on!
Perhaps, like me, they have problems unfolding and re-folding maps?

Looks like they're enjoying a day at the beach. Intriguing. And wonderful photos!

Have a great weekend, and thanks for the visit!

It's true. There's a lot of beauty at dawn only seen by a few.
Zafon mentioned the Cemetery of lost books in the Angel's Game.
"...we are all part of something, and that when we leave this world our memories and our desires are not lost, but go on to become memories and desires of those who take our place..." from The Angel's Game by Carlos Luis Zapon

it's the other indicators of winter they're not getting, trish... ice and snow... and certainly, not nearly as cold enough
