It really is a brilliant idea. I'm reminded of the use of old railway cars as homes in England. Do you read the Maisie Dobbs series? That's where I first read of such a thing.
Nan - No, I've never read that series but I could imagine railroad cars would work, too. Come to think of it, I've seen articles about homes being made out of shipping containers.
This is really a good idea especially for schools who may not a resources for a library. I like the idea of a traveling library. Hey, if a traveling pizza bus was done, this shouldn't be left behind. :D

What a wonderful, wonderful thing! How do you suppose it is heated in the winter? And does it move - like a bookmobile?
Good question. The article doesn't say anything about heat, but it does say that the library bus is 'parked' in a pedestrian area.
It is a wonderful thing, isn't it? I would love to see more retired equipment repurposed this way.
Looks cosy in there, doesn't it? But then, a place full of books always does. :)
I love how the old fashioned interior actually works with all the books. I'd love to visit!
What a wonderful idea!
Beth - yes, true that.
Sam & Tracy - it would be fun to visit, wouldn't it? I wish more towns would do this.
