Saturday Snapshot - Lake Ontario Sky

Remember Hurricane Irene from a couple weeks ago? This is what it looked like from our end of Lake Ontario looking southeast while it was drenching the eastern states. The view was more dramatic in real life, with the tops of the cumulous clouds visible over the purple, late day horizon.

I don't think we are going to forget Hurrican Irene any time soon. Floods, roads closed, power out. We missed part of our beach vacation due to evacuation. Your photo makes it look beautiful though. Isn't perpective a funny thing?

The colors are gorgeous and I love the shot with those beach grasses in the foreground. Sorry that others suffered from Irene, but still able to enjoy your photo.

Gorgeous! Even though it has a sort of ominous feeling knowing the hurricane was way over there.

Beautiful colors. It's amazing how something so destructive can produce such beauty elsewhere.

That is absolutely GORGEOUS.
Looks like an ocean!
And people have SWAM across that thing, that's what I find so amazing. I get very out-of-breath just thinking of such a prospect.

The sky colors evoke serenity instead of the disaster that befell so many people. Beautiful pic!

Beautiful colors. Amazing that there can be so much beauty when there's also a lot of destruction going on!
