These are my pond fish in their winter home and as soon as the ice is gone (next week maybe? *crossing fingers*) I'll put them back outside where they like it best. But in the mean time they're parked in a 40 gal tank in a sunny room where I can see them from my favorite reading chair. Although it's not really 'proper' to let the tank get green like this, I love how the algae sets off their vivid orange and whites.

Wow, I never thought about what you do with "outside" fish in a cold climate. The fish in our neighborhood stay in their pond all year round because it never freezes.
You can almost feel the movement of the fish in this one and I love the colors. Nice shot.
I hope the fish make it to their summer home soon though it might be sad to lose the indoor view of them.
Love your fish, so would my exhausted kitty. We leave our fish in the pond all year, it's deep enough that they have a small area to swim in, and my husband puts in a de icer electric thingy, we usually have babies in the spring and this is why we stopped taking them out. We live in Canada so I think it's pretty cold. I just couldn't do the 40 gallon thin anymore. But the photo is great.

Those are certainly some pampered fish.
We have two outdoor ponds.
One containing 40 or 50 smaller goldfish, who live quite happily under the ice and snow, and are pretty much left to their own devices during the winter.
The other smaller pond, has 6 Koi carp, who are much more pampered. They are about a foot long and have the luxury of pond heating during the winter, with the added protection of a canopy over them, to both protect from the frost and to stop the Heron getting at them.
I musn't show hubbie your picture, or I can see our home turning into something of an indoor aquarium next winter!!!

Lucky fish, they get to go to the tropics for the winter. I always thought they stayed outside and as long as the filters kept the water from freezing they would hibernate.
We've had mixed results keeping fish under the ice, so for the last couple of winters we've brought them inside.
