Today is a holiday here in these parts. 'Family Day' it's called. But for me it may as well be called Finish-Reading-'The Passage'-For-Heaven's-Sake Day because, really, it's about 300 pages too long and I'm ready to be done.

Anyone see the movie 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona'? I'm having a Javier Bardem - Penelope Cruz type relationship with this book. One minute I'm loving the pants off the thing, and the next I'm screaming at it.

My full rant review *with spoilers* comes tomorrow.

I have a book I am reading like that, except I feel a lot less passionate about it, both when I like it and when I don't. More like a vacilating 'meh'.

I'll be glad to finish too.

So far, I'm enjoying my "daytime" read The Paris Wife, but in the evenings this week, I'm reading Freedom, which is a chunkster. So far, it isn't bugging me, but I haven't been at it very long.

I know what you mean, though, as that movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona got on my nerves...even as I loved the scenery and settings. The characters could be annoying....

I own The Passage but the size of it does scare me!

With some books, I wish they would go on forever, and with others I find I'm constantly checking to see how much more there is to go. A bit like a kid on a car trip, "Are we there yet?"

I've not read The Passage. I've seen it at the bookstore and read reviews of it, but yeah, I don't think it's my cup of tea. Good luck with finishing it! :)
